One word
My one word for 2018 will be focus. I chose this word because of how much it can affect me throughout life. This word means that I’m going to focus on things I do such as school work or anything else that I’m doing. Living this word will change my life because of the outcome. The outcome can be very helpful by getting me through lots of things both academically and throughout life itself. The steps I will take for this word will be to start focusing on what I do in school and outside of school. This would mean that I would finish my assignments and spend time with my family.

Life As We Knew It
1/11/18
Life As We Knew It is a book by Susan Beth Pfeffer, and is a non fiction genre.
Life As We Knew It is about a 17 year old girl named Miranda who lives with her divorced mom and two brothers. One day, astronomers found out that an asteroid was going to hit the moon and cause nothing. Once this happened, the world went to complete chaos with natural distasters, stores being overrun by people, and with gas stations having lines of cars waiting for gas. My favorite part of this book is the ending because of how interesting it is and makes you wonder what’s going to happen next.
The main character of this book (Miranda) is a dramatic person. I know this because of the dramatic arguments she has with her mom. This text from the book proves this and says, “Mom yelled at me about money and responsibilities and I yelled at her abou favorites and not loving me like she loves Matt and Jonny ...” (page 8). This quote means that Miranda is a dramatic person because of the argument(s) she’s had with her mom.
I really liked this book because of how you were able to see what happened in a different persons point of view since this book is part of a series. I would recommend this book because of how interesting it is because of the plot. The main theme of this book is to take what you have for granted because something might happen and ruin it for you.
