Inside Out Story

                                          How I Missed the Eclipse

One week before the eclipse, my dad and I headed out to the planetarium to get some glasses so we can view the sun without getting blind. When we went inside the planetarium to get our tickets, the lady at the counter gave us some free glasses. As we viewed everything in planetarium, I thought about going somewhere else to view the eclipse. As we left the planetarium we decided to view the sun using the glasses to test it out.The sun looked as small as a grape, and was as orange as Trump. When we got back home, I went online to check out where it would be ok to view the eclipse. But since my dad thought he was correct, he said that we would stay at home and would view the eclipse from there.

It was now a few days before the eclipse, and almost everyone was talking about it. It was on the news, there were memes of it, and people even thought it was going to be the end of the world. Then again, it was going to be a historical moment for everyone on earth, so it's understandable. I looked up at the blue sky, and thought to myself "I might actually see the eclipse!" But I was wrong.

At this point I was excited. It was Monday, August 21st, and I was officially ready for this historical moment. At that moment, I thought that there would be no clouds and nothing interrupting the eclipse from happening. After the 3 hours of school, I got back home and looked up at the sky. The sky was just filled with clouds upon clouds. At first, I thought the clouds would clear up in a few
minutes before the eclipse began. But when I went to the TV to check on CNN if the eclipse begun, the sky was still filled with clouds. About 10 minutes later, the eclipse had officially ended and I was not able to see anything. I was furious about this, and as any other teenager would do when their mad, I just went to my room and slammed my door in anger. I had eventually gotten over it but I was still mad due to the fact that I missed something that will not be happening in the next 7 years. So in all, I got solar eclipse glasses and got hyped up just to see nothing but clouds.
